Behaviour Manager – Secondary School – Birmingham

This is a well-established Secondary School in Birmingham serving a diverse pupil community aged 1118.

The school has clear expectations for behaviour and places strong emphasis on creating a calm respectful and purposeful environment. Staff work collaboratively to ensure expectations are consistent and pupils receive appropriate support to make positive choices.

The school is seeking an experienced Behaviour Manager to join its pastoral structure and support the effective management of behaviour across the school.

The Behaviour Manager will work closely with senior leaders Heads of Year teachers pupils and parents.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring behaviour across the school.

• Supporting the implementation of the behaviour policy.

• Managing behaviour incidents.

• Maintaining accurate behaviour records.

• Identifying recurring behaviour patterns.

• Supporting individual behaviour interventions.

• Working closely with Heads of Year.

• Communicating with parents and carers.

• Supporting behaviour meetings.

• Developing appropriate behaviour strategies.

• Monitoring pupil progress following interventions.

• Supporting reintegration following exclusions or periods away from lessons.

• Advising staff on behaviour procedures.

• Supporting pupils to understand expectations.

• Preparing behaviour information for senior leaders.

• Contributing to behaviour reviews.

• Supporting the wider pastoral team.

• Promoting consistency across the school.

The successful candidate will work directly with pupils who require additional behaviour support.

This may include:

• One-to-one meetings.

• Restorative conversations.

• Behaviour monitoring.

• Individual behaviour plans.

• Targeted interventions.

• Regular reviews.

The aim will be to help pupils understand expectations and develop strategies that support positive engagement.

The Behaviour Manager will work closely with teaching staff to promote consistency.

You may provide advice regarding behaviour procedures review incidents with teachers and contribute to discussions around individual pupils.

Strong communication and professional judgement will be important.

The role will involve regular communication with parents and carers.

You may discuss behaviour incidents arrange meetings explain school expectations and provide updates regarding interventions.

The successful candidate must be confident handling difficult conversations professionally.
