A secondary school in Manchester is looking for an experienced Behaviour Manager to join its pastoral team as soon as possible.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how to support pupils with challenging behaviour maintain high expectations and help students re-engage with learning. The position will initially be temporary with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

• Managing day-to-day behaviour across an identified year group or provision

• Supporting students with challenging or persistent behaviour

• Leading behaviour interventions and restorative conversations

• Working closely with Heads of Year and the wider pastoral team

• Monitoring behaviour attendance and punctuality

• Supporting internal reflection or inclusion provision

• Communicating with parents and carers

• Keeping accurate records of incidents and interventions

• Helping students successfully return to lessons following incidents

Previous secondary school experience in behaviour pastoral care inclusion or student support is essential.

You should be confident dealing with challenging situations able to build positive relationships with young people and comfortable maintaining clear boundaries.

Experience working with SEMH needs alternative provision or internal inclusion would be particularly useful.
