Job Overview
Attendance plays a prominent role in this schools pastoral identity and academic standards. The successful applicant will take responsibility for daily attendance tracking unexcused absence follow-ups statutory local authority reporting and attendance intervention strategies across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Working closely with Heads of Year pastoral leads and safeguarding officers you will conduct daily morning registration audits contact parents/carers organize attendance panels and maintain accurate SIMS/Arbor database records. This is a full-time ongoing or permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor daily student attendance and punctuality records using school management information systems (SIMS/Arbor)
Conduct first-day absence calls and send automated SMS notifications to parents/carers
Conduct home visits and attend multi-agency welfare meetings for pupils with persistent absenteeism
Prepare weekly attendance statistical reports for the Senior Leadership Team and local authority officers
Coordinate attendance reward initiatives student attendance panels and reintegration plans
Maintain accurate safeguarding and attendance records in full compliance with Department for Education statutory guidelines

Role Type: Full-time hours (Term-Time Only or 52-week contract available)

Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in a school attendance pastoral support or education administrative role
Strong proficiency in school database systems (SIMS Arbor Bromcom or CMIS)
Deep understanding of DfE school attendance codes statutory guidance and safeguarding protocols
Excellent communication conflict resolution and telephone liaison skills when working with families
An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
