A secondary school in Bedfordshire is looking for an organised and confident Attendance Officer to join its pastoral and administration team.
Youll be responsible for monitoring daily attendance following up unexplained absences and working with pupils families and school staff to address attendance concerns.
The school is initially offering the role on a temporary basis with the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Your day-to-day work will include:
Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality
Following up unexplained and persistent absences
Contacting parents and carers
Maintaining accurate attendance records
Producing attendance reports and identifying patterns
Working closely with Heads of Year and pastoral staff
Supporting attendance meetings and interventions
Liaising with external agencies where appropriate
Updating the schools MIS
Providing accurate attendance information to senior leaders
Previous school-based attendance or pastoral administration experience is highly desirable.
Youll need to be confident communicating with parents comfortable working with data and able to deal with sensitive situations professionally.
Experience with Arbor SIMS Bromcom or another school MIS would be useful.
