About the role
Youll be based in a 45-bed Extra Care service supporting people aged 55 who live independently in self-contained flats including individuals with varying needs such as dementia.
As an Assistant Cook youll play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy nutritious home-style meals tailored to their needs while creating positive and meaningful mealtime experiences.
What Youll Be Doing
- Preparing cooking reheating and serving nutritious and delicious meals including special diets
- Supporting the full mealtime process: ordering storage preparation cooking serving and cleaning
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene safety and infection control
- Creating a friendly and engaging dining experience by interacting with residents
- Providing support at mealtimes with dignity and respect where required
Skills and Experience Needed
Please make sure your application demonstrates:
- Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
- Level 2 Food Hygiene (desirable full training provided)
- Good IT literacy and numeracy skills
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
