Role overview
We are looking for an Apprentice Receptionist/Administrator to join our Norwich site. This will be 40 hours per week with 80% of time spent working on site and 20% of time spent studying.


The post-holder will complete an 15 month apprenticeship in Business and Medical Administration (Level 3) with Dynamic Training alongside the position therefore it is expected that our Apprentice Receptionist / Administrator will be adept at managing their own diary ensuring that their study is completed to the best of their ability alongside the duties expected on site.


As a Receptionist / Administrator you would be responsible for ensuring that clinics are set up that patient appointments are fully utilised and that appointment outcomes are recorded and filed. You will be managing the accuracy of all patient data including liaising with GP surgeries clinics and patients and ensuring that Newmedicas electronic patient record is up to date.


Administrators are also the central point of contact for all telephone queries from both patients and clinic staff. When covering Reception they are the face of Newmedica theyre often amongst the first people that our patients interact with on clinic visits therefore having a welcoming friendly empathetic approach is vital.


Receptionists / Administrators will have a friendly and accessible personal manner and be able to deliver an effective administrative service to the clinic. They will be able to work within small teams to maintain and enhance processes to maximise quality and efficiency.


What skills and experience do I need

  • A passion for delivering excellent service and exceptional customer care
  • Excellent administration skills
  • The ability to reassure and support patients in a healthcare setting where people may be nervous or anxious about treatment
  • Excellent computer skills. Comfortable with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new systems
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A good team player - happy to jump in and support others when required
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English or the willingness to undertake the functional skills programme
  • A commitment to ongoing study with support from the Newmedica team
