London days: Once or twice a month

Who youll be doing it for

Youll join the mobile platform team on a UK government app working on the app and the services that support it.

The team builds and maintains the common parts of the app such as login. It also brings in key features built by other teams and manages app releases.

Youre engaged through hedgehog lab a digital product consultancy and certified B Corp also Great Place to Work certified.

For 20 years weve helped public and private sector organisations through digital transformation.

What youll be doing

Youll build and improve the common parts of the Android app such as login in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose.

Youll also work on how features built by other teams fit into the app.

When your code is ready youll put it up for review. Youll review other peoples code too.

Once a release is live youll keep an eye on Crashlytics. If something is crashing youll find out why and fix it.

Youll work closely with the QA and backend engineers and speak up early when you spot a technical risk.

Whats in it for you

Most of it happens from home.

What youll need to be considered

You need strong commercial experience in native Android development.

You should know Kotlin and Jetpack Compose well and have used Crashlytics to keep an app stable.

Youre comfortable in a small fast-moving team. Youre happy to say what you think in a code review.
