TPF Recruitment is supporting a really lovely independent accountancy practice based in Chatham who are looking to recruit an Accounts & Tax Manager to join their growing team.

The Role

You will work closely with the Directors and manage a portfolio of mainly owner managed business clients across a broad range of industries. The role will be a mix of accounts tax and client management work with the opportunity to get involved in supporting and mentoring junior members of staff.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Advising clients on general accounting and tax matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Assisting the Directors with ad hoc projects and practice development work

Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Strong background within an accountancy practice environment
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients
  • Good knowledge of accounts and tax compliance work
  • Strong communication and client management skills
  • Organised personable and able to work independently

Required Skills:

Preferably qualified ACA/ACCA or by experience. 5-10 years experience within an accountancy practice experience. Experience preparing accounts and tax returns. Experience of QuickBooks Xero or Sage would be advantageous.
