Working closely with the SENCo class teacher and external specialists you will implement tailored behavioral strategies manage classroom triggers and promote positive learning habits. This is a full-time ongoing role suited to a resilient empathetic and proactive LSA.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 academic and emotional support to a Year 1 boy during structured lessons and unstructured playtimes

• Implement tailored behavior management plans and positive reinforcement strategies to keep the pupil focused and regulated

• De-escalate challenging behaviors calmly and effectively creating a safe structured environment for learning

• Assist the class teacher by adapting learning tasks and resources to meet the pupils specific learning and sensory needs

• Build a strong trusting relationship with the pupil while encouraging independence and positive social interactions with peers

• Track pupil progress log behavioral patterns and provide regular feedback to the SENCo class teacher and parents

• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child welfare at all times

• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the Year 1 classroom environment

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience working as an LSA Teaching Assistant or SEN Support Assistant (ideally within Key Stage 1 or Early Years)

• Demonstrated experience supporting pupils with behavioral emotional or social development needs

• Strong de-escalation skills emotional resilience and a calm patient demeanor

• Knowledge of positive behavior management techniques and sensory regulation strategies
