A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Harlow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a student who requires additional academic social and emotional support. This role would be particularly well suited to a Psychology Graduate Education Graduate or related graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working with young people in an educational setting.
As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Harlow secondary school you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional learning needs
- Assist the student with accessing the curriculum and completing classroom tasks
- Develop strategies that encourage independence confidence and positive engagement with learning
- Support the students social and emotional development throughout the school day
- Build a positive trusting and consistent relationship with the student
- Work closely with class teachers the SENDCo and wider pastoral team
- Help create a calm inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff where appropriate

- A strong communicator with a proactive and supportive approach
- Reliable reflective and eager to develop their understanding of SEN
- Interested in pursuing a long-term career working with children or young people
