About the Opportunity

Evantis Talent Solutions is recruiting an Advanced SMT Process Engineer for a leading semiconductor assembly and packaging company in Thailand.

This hands-on role focuses on developing and optimising surface mount technology (SMT) processes for power module manufacturing. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to improve process performance quality and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and process characterisation for SMT manufacturing.
• Define process materials operating parameters tooling controls and handling procedures.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams on SMT process design and control.
• Configure SMT production lines and optimise screen printing and component placement parameters.
• Establish nozzle selection guidelines and stencil design requirements.
• Programme and troubleshoot Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.
• Optimise reflow profiles and support process improvements across applicable reflow technologies.
• Support cost reduction projects related to SMT processes.

Required Experience and Skills

• At least 3 years of SMT process engineering experience within IC packaging or printed circuit board assembly (PCBA).
• Hands-on experience with advanced SMT processes including high-density component placement multilayer component attachment or double-sided SMT.
• Knowledge of SMT line configuration nozzle selection and stencil design.
• Experience optimising screen printing and component placement processes.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting SPI and AOI systems.
• Knowledge of conventional convection reflow vacuum reflow and/or formic acid reflow including profile optimisation.
• Strong engineering data analysis skills and familiarity with SPC DOE APQP and FMEA.
• Good English communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail ownership and a quality-focused approach to preventing defects.
• Comfortable working closely with production teams on the manufacturing floor.
