Job Summary

At OPSinnovate we specialize in connecting high-caliber IT infrastructure talent with mission-critical enterprise projects across Europe.

We are currently expanding our platform engineering capabilities for a major public enterprise digital transformation project in Switzerland. We are seeking a Senior Open Source & Red Hat System Engineer to design automate and secure core cloud infrastructure and containerized platform operations.

This position begins as a 12-month contract with an explicit pathway/option to convert into a permanent position upon successful project milestones.

Tasks

  • Infrastructure & Server Integration: Install integrate and manage application environments on Enterprise Linux servers (RHEL) and OpenShift platforms (handling SSO LDAP Mail Proxy Active Directory and Backup).
  • Automation & GitOps: Drive operational automation using Ansible Python/Shell scripting and GitOps methodologies (Everything as Code).
  • Platform Reliability: Build optimize and maintain containerized workloads (Kubernetes / OpenShift) monitoring stacks (Prometheus Grafana Zabbix) and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with DevSecOps network security and product teams to ensure standardized resilient and highly secure private cloud operations.
  • Support & Operations: Provide 3rd-level support troubleshooting operational documentation and user guidelines for operations teams.

Requirements

  • Education: Higher technical degree (FH/HF) or formal qualification (EFZ) in Computer Science / Information Technology.
  • Linux & Container Stack: 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux System Administration (RHEL) and container orchestration using Red Hat OpenShift / Kubernetes.
  • Automation & Core Tools: Proficient in Ansible GitOps (Helm ArgoCD) Web Servers (Nginx/Apache) Databases (MariaDB/PostgreSQL) and Monitoring tools.
  • Residence & Mobility: Minimum 5 years of Swiss residence; ability to work on-site in Bern and Zurich 1 day per week each.
  • Languages: Business fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
