Senior Electrical Engineer – HVDC Auxiliary Power Systems

Employment Type: Full-time Consultant Assignment

Assignment Period: October 2026 April 2027 (extension may be possible)

Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site in Ludvika (Some remote work within Sweden may be possible by agreement)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support HVDC projects with focus on auxiliary power systems and electrical engineering activities. The role combines technical expertise coordination across engineering disciplines and responsibility for delivering high-quality engineering solutions in complex international projects.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams suppliers contractors and project stakeholders to ensure engineering requirements documentation and technical solutions meet project and customer expectations.

• Prepare requirement specifications aligned with HVDC auxiliary power systems project requirements and customer contracts.

• Coordinate with civil building teams small power designers contractors partners and other HVDC disciplines.

• Review supplier documentation including:

  • Small power system single line diagrams

  • Panel circuit diagrams

  • Schematics

  • Layouts

  • Lighting calculations

  • Selectivity calculations

  • Small power cable way designs

• Ensure HVDC EMC and RFI requirements are considered in contractor deliverables.

• Review building small power system equipment grounding systems.

• Participate in BIM reviews.

• Prepare tender and project documentation.

• Support cost estimation of engineering work during tender submissions.

• Provide technical support during testing installation and commissioning activities.

• Lead and coordinate engineering activities across projects.

• Support development of solutions for complex engineering challenges.

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with minimum 6 years of relevant work experience or another technical degree with more than 15 years of relevant experience.

• Experience working with HVDC systems auxiliary power systems or similar electrical engineering environments.

• Experience with electrical system design requirement specifications and technical documentation.

• Experience reviewing supplier documentation and electrical drawings.

• Experience supporting testing installation and commissioning activities.

• Experience with BIM reviews or related digital engineering processes.

• Ability to coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines.

• Strong English communication skills both written and spoken.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of engineering activities.
