Design Engineer
Job Summary
As a Design Engineer (DE) in the Textile Platform team you will work with the latest technologies and materials develop smart innovative engineering solutions together with great people in and outside the Platform team. You will be developing standard solutions for our range of textile products in the contexts of Home Furnishing accessory businesses and support achievement of IKEA material and Rage strategy goals. As the Design Engineer in the team you are involved in developing and documenting engineering solutions (such as fabric constructions accessories etc.). You will be joining a great team always pushing boundaries with finding new ways and methods simulation tools and strong verification approach. Giving and taking responsibility leadership and working with people have a large focus in this role.
And of course: it is a lot of fun!
Qualifications :
We are looking for you who have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with fabrics and textile products covering development production and materials. You have most likely worked in the textile industry in a business development unit or closely with textile production. You bring knowledge of textile products together with an understanding of what matters to our customers.
As a Design Engineer you bring:
- A university degree in Textile Engineering or equivalent and experience in product development for textile furniture or other consumer products.
- Good knowledge of textile production and materials including cotton man-made cellulose and other natural fibres.
- Experience in documenting textile products in Windchill or similar systems and working with textile CAD tools such as Arahne NedGraphics or Shima Seiki.
- Curiosity a passion for solving big challenges and the courage to explore new solutions and navigate the unknown with a strong motivation to find and create the best technical solutions for our customers.
- The ability to take initiative and responsibility collaborate in a team and deliver according to agreed goals and deadlines.
- The ability to turn complex topics into clear structured communication and actionable outputs that support decision-making along with fluency in written and spoken English.
