Description of the workplace
The Clinical Memory Research Unit conducts research on Alzheimers disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. For several years the research group has been at the forefront of the field. The group is led by Associate Professor Niklas Mattsson-Carlgren and consists of research and technical staff. The research activities are based at BMC in Lund. Work duties and areas or responsibilities
The position involves leading and contributing to research projects in genomics and proteomics performing relevant statistical and bioinformatics analyses and integrating the research groups genomics and proteomics data with other types of data. The duties also include developing databases for both internal and external use with a focus on genomics and proteomics data generated through the groups research as well as developing new and relevant research methods in genomics and proteomics.

Qualifications:
Requirements for the position:

• PhD in bioinformatics genetics neuroscience or equivalent.
• Expertise in genetic epidemiology.
• Expertise in database development particularly in relation to proteomics and genomics.
• Expertise in artificial intelligence applied to proteomics and genomics.
• Experience of research in the field of neurodegenerative diseases.
• Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. The duties require you to be meticulous and flexible capable of working independently on development-oriented tasks and able to contribute to the research projects of other researchers and students.

Additional qualifications considered an advantage:

• Experience of research on biomarkers in blood and cerebrospinal fluid.
• Experience of research specifically in Alzheimers disease.

This is a permanent full-time position (100%) with a preliminary start date of 1 December 2026 or as agreed.
