Job Overview

The Chartered Civil Engineer will oversee building construction projects from planning to completion ensuring technical compliance quality safety cost control and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan coordinate supervise and monitor construction projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct site inspections progress evaluations and quality reviews.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings specifications contracts and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with architects consultants contractors subcontractors and government authorities.
• Review technical drawings method statements material submissions and work schedules.
• Monitor project budgets resources timelines and overall performance.
• Identify project risks delays and technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare project progress reports and provide updates to management and clients.
• Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards.
• Conduct site measurements valuations and verification of contractor claims.
• Support procurement tender evaluations project planning and contract administration.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and site teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• BSc in Civil Engineering Building Construction or a related discipline from a government-recognized university.
• Corporate Membership of the Institution of Engineers Sri Lanka (IESL) is mandatory.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the construction industry with significant exposure to building construction projects.
• Experience in large-scale commercial residential industrial or mixed-development projects will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies structural engineering principles and building regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Project and MS Office.
• Knowledge of project planning budgeting cost control and contract administration.
• Strong project management coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel island-wide to project sites as required.
