Staff Software Engineer

Scopely is seeking a highly motivated Staff Software Engineer to join our Playgami team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis!

What Youll Do

• Lead work from design through implementation and operation producing maintainable code useful documentation effective tests and reliable releases.
• Set technical direction for complex features and systems that run world-class games at scale owning clear trade-offs between player experience delivery speed and long-term health.
• Raise standards across teams improving delivery performance reliability scalability and security through sound design and production feedback.
• Partner with colleagues in product data design and other disciplines to clarify ambiguous problems align decisions manage dependencies and deliver meaningful outcomes for the business.
• Mentor engineers share knowledge and help colleagues succeed beyond your immediate team.

What Were Looking For

• Strong computer science and engineering fundamentals including system design data structures algorithms and concurrency.
• Deep experience with Java C# or another object-oriented language including asynchronous and parallel programming.
• A track record of designing shipping and operating complex production systems with high-quality maintainable code.
• The ability to lead across teams and disciplines through influence communicate decisions clearly and work constructively.
• A product engineering mindset sound judgment under ambiguity and a habit of learning and improving.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with low-latency high-volume distributed systems or large-scale data technologies.
• Experience with a modern web framework such as React or Angular.
