Road Load Data Acquisition Testing Engineer Body & Components

Reporting to the Testing Manager he/she will be involved in carrying out Testing Projects focused mainly on the study of the structural durability and abuse performance of the vehicles.

The Test Engineer will be in charge of the execution of the testing projects which he/she will be assigned for and will act as window person with the client. The successful Test Engineer has a self-starting mentality enjoys working hands-on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of client satisfaction from technical and quality points of view.

In particular the Test Engineer will be in charge of the following responsibilities and duties:

• Study of clients test requirements.
• Create test procedures plans and test reports to support the test project.
• Specify instrumentation & equipment on test vehicles and perform test data collection (RLDA) using sensors like wheel force transducers accelerometers strain gages string potentiometers etc.
• Design creation and implementation of automated data analysis scripts to analyse the collected data.
• Analyse and process the collected test data and check for data integrity.
• Work in close collaboration with vehicle technicians instrumentation and design teams.
• Write test reports to document results of testing and to communicate issues found.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• The role will be based in IDIADA Spain and will require travel based on project characteristics.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 1 years of experience in vehicle-level testing projects related to the activities described in Job Description section.

Technical Competencies:

Test Equipment Expertise:

• Proficient use and handling of test equipment including:
  • Wheel force transducers
  • Accelerometers
  • Strain gauges
  • String potentiometers
• Data acquisition systems (Quantum eDAQ)

Software Proficiency:

• Data acquisition and analysis platforms (CATMAN Glyphworks n-Code Siemens TestLab RPC)
• Programming and analytical tools (MATLAB Python)

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience writing formal procedures plans and technical reports
• Comfortable leading client meetings and presenting test results with technical depth
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Soft Skills:

• Proactive shows eagerness in learning & finding ways to meet deliverables without dependency.
• Curiously investigate everything ability to solve problems analytically creatively and collaboratively.
