Job Summary

The Global Palm Sustainability Manager will lead LDCs palm sustainability strategy and implementation guided by our Palm Sustainability Policy across all palm origination regions and destination markets creating value for LDC our suppliers and customers.  

The role will drive global alignment performance monitoring and digitalization of our regional work programs in Asia Latin America and Africa towards higher efficiency automation and integrated global work program. This role will also lead high-level key stakeholder engagement and partnerships i.e. our customers suppliers policy makers industry associations civil society etc. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

Global palm sustainability strategy and program leadership 

  • Lead the implementation LDCs Palm Sustainability Policy across all origin regions (Asia Latin America Africa) with the support of regional palm sustainability teams and in close collaboration with commercial compliance and other internal functions 

  • Act as the global focal point for palm sustainability internally and externally 

  • Lead regional palm sustainability teams; ensure alignment across regional sustainability programs.

Responsible sourcing & NDPE 

  • Ensure supplier chain traceability to origin in line with our targets 

  • Oversee supplier NDPE due diligence risk assessment and mitigation grievance management performance monitoring as well as capacity building 

Regulatory compliance and certifications 

  • Proactively follow latest sustainability-related regulatory developments at destinations and origins and ensure LDC preparedness for regulatory compliance such as EUDR EU CSDDD etc. 

  • In particular lead implementation and continuous improvement of EUDR management system globally in coordination with regional teams in key origins to meet the EUDR implementation timeline (December 2026) 

  • Oversee various sustainability certification programs including RSPO ISCC Organic etc.  

Supply chain decarbonization 

  • Lead collaboration with LDC carbon and commercial teams to implement our supply chain decarbonization plan in line with our targets 

Data Digitalization & Performance Monitoring 

  • Drive digitalization and automation of palm sustainability data management and analytics 

  • Enhance regular KPI monitoring and reporting for internal and external uses 

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships 

  • Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers customers NGOs to advance LDCs sustainability priorities such as regenerative agriculture sustainable agriculture practices landscape initiatives etc. 

  • Represent LDC in key industry forums working groups etc. 

Communications & Reporting 

  • Lead contributions to regular sustainability reporting and communications 

 

Knowledge and Experience 

  • Expected to have 15 years of experience in palm sustainability or responsible sourcing; management experience of multi-cultural teams. 
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of environmental and social issues of palm supply chains NDPE relevant regulations such as EUDR certification schemes (RSPO ISCC ISPO MSPO) carbon accounting. 
  • Education: Bachelors degree is required. Masters a plus. 
  • Languages: working proficiency in English and Spanish (speaking writing presenting); French is a big plus 
  • Systems: Advanced MS Office. Knowledge of Power BI and other digital tools is a plus. 

Technical/ Functional skills 

Strong analytical project management skills.
