Amazon Web Services is seeking an Fire Protection Design Engineer to become part of a global engineering team responsible for the design and continuous innovation of our rapidly expanding data center foot print.

Join our innovative team where you can shape the future of data center fire protection on a global scale. As a Fire Protection Engineer youll collaborate with diverse teams to design and implement safety systems that protect some of the worlds most critical infrastructure.

Key job responsibilities
Design and oversee comprehensive fire protection systems for data centers worldwide

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement fire safety solutions

Review and ensure compliance with international fire protection standards

Provide technical guidance on fire protection engineering matters

Support continuous improvement of design standards and methodologies

Your day will be a dynamic blend of technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving. Youll engage with architects engineers and global teams to develop innovative fire safety strategies conduct detailed analyses and create comprehensive protection solutions that push the boundaries of technological safety.

About the team
Our Data Center Design Engineering team brings together diverse perspectives from multiple engineering disciplines. We nurture an inclusive environment where collaboration and innovation thrive. Together were committed to developing sustainable secure and efficient data centers that support global technology infrastructure.

- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers power generation or oil and gas facilities
- Experience researching new designs technologies and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
- Experience in design engineering or the construction industry including fire suppression systems fire alarm and detection systems fire-resistive construction and life safety

- Experience reading interpreting and creating construction drawings specifications and submittal documents
- Experience with fire and building codes and standards including the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) National Electrical Code (NEC) FM Global standards International Fire Code (IFC) and the Comprehensive International Building Code (IBC)
- Knowledge of BS & ICC Codes NFPA Standards and FM requirements
- Experience with performance-based fire protection design
