Job Summary
A leading automotive manufacturing company is seeking two experienced Toolmakers to join its team. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining repairing and optimizing production tooling to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and minimal downtime.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Trade Qualification in Toolmaking Precision Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 35 years experience in a Toolmaker role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining and repairing production tooling.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Good computer literacy.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime when required.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Sound understanding of manufacturing and machining principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain repair and service production tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Set up and operate conventional lathes milling machines and surface grinders.
- Interpret engineering drawings specifications and CAD files for tooling components.
- Conduct measurements and inspections using precision instruments including micrometers calipers gauges and CMMs.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve defects.
- Collaborate with production maintenance and engineering teams to meet operational requirements.
- Modify and improve tooling to enhance efficiency quality and productivity.
- Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance repairs and usage.
- Ensure compliance with health safety and quality standards at all times.
