Technical & Procurement Manager Table Grapes
Location: Wellington

A leading fresh produce business is seeking an experienced Technical & Procurement Manager to drive supply growth quality management and grower relationships within its table grape division.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded agricultural professional with strong technical expertise in table grapes and a proven ability to build supplier networks and secure quality supply.

Key Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the fresh produce industry specifically table grapes
Proven track record in sourcing and securing new supply
Advanced technical knowledge of table grapes including varietals quality standards and post-harvest handling
Strong relationship-building skills with growers and packhouses
Computer literate
Willingness and ability to travel regularly

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute procurement strategies in collaboration with the sales team
Procure product in line with seasonal planning and customer requirements
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective growers
Identify evaluate and onboard new suppliers to expand the supply base
Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements with suppliers
Ensure produce is packed and delivered according to agreed plans and market specifications
Conduct quality assessments on farms in packhouses and in cold storage facilities
Manage packing material requirements and supplier administration
Coordinate activities between operational and commercial teams to ensure seamless execution
Drive procurement profitability through effective cost control and margin optimisation
