SCC Technical Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a technically skilled and commercially minded Technical Co-ordinator to join our Supply Chain team in Cape Town. This role plays a critical part in supporting marine and mining operations through the effective management of repairable equipment technical procurement activities supplier engagement and inventory control. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering teams suppliers and operational stakeholders to ensure the availability and integrity of critical equipment and spares.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to operational engineering teams to ensure the availability of critical spares and repairable equipment.
• Coordinate and manage the end-to-end repair process for equipment and rotable assets across Debmarine DBGS Venetia Mine and Namdeb operations. 
• Receive verify and process approved repair and procurement requisitions. 
• Identify suitable suppliers and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs).  
• Perform technical and commercial evaluations of supplier quotations in collaboration with end users. 
• Prepare and manage purchase orders ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Negotiate pricing commercial terms and supplier agreements to deliver value and cost savings. 
• Track and expedite orders to ensure delivery against agreed timelines. 
• Monitor market trends supplier performance and pricing movements.
• Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure quality and compliance standards are met. 
• Provide technical guidance to stakeholders regarding equipment failures repairs and improvement opportunities. 
• Analyse technical drawings equipment reports and component failures to determine optimal repair solutions. 
• Coordinate third-party quality inspections and support site health and safety requirements. 
• Maintain accurate procurement repair and inventory records while ensuring strong governance and controls.

Qualifications :

• Qualified Artisan or equivalent technical qualification.
• Relevant experience in a mining and/or marine environment. 

Experience

• 3 to 5 years technical experience within a mining and/or marine environment. 

Advantageous

• 3 to 5 years procurement experience within a mining and/or marine environment. 
• Experience managing equipment repairs refurbishment processes and technical procurement activities.
• Knowledge of marine mining processes material requirements classification requirements and statutory marine regulations.

Knowledge and Skills
