Project Engineer

Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Project Engineer that will manage defined project packages or components under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager gaining exposure across the full project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary teams suppliers and clients to help ensure that projects are delivered safely on time within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage allocated project packages through design procurement installation commissioning and defects liability phases
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs to ensure technical completeness cost control and schedule adherence
- Support the implementation and communication of the project quality plan
- Prepare technical enquiry documentation for suppliers and subcontractors
- Evaluate supplier submissions perform technical and commercial adjudications and support purchase order placement within approved budgets
- Maintain and track project schedules including supplier and subcontractor progress
- Monitor and support compliance with health safety and ISO requirements
- Develop working knowledge of project commercial contractual and legal obligations
- Maintain effective relationships with clients suppliers and project stakeholders
- Identify and report project risks related to scope cost time and quality
- Manage nonconformities and support root cause analysis for defects during execution and the defects liability period
- Capture and maintain organizational knowledge within the project engineering discipline
- Ensure all activities align with ISO 9001:2015 processes and PCI Africa workflows
Minimum Requirements:
- BSc or BTech in Mechanical Electrical Chemical or Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years project experience in the water wastewater mining or related infrastructure sectors
- Understanding of project lifecycle coordination across engineering and procurement activities
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 including risk-based thinking and process management
- Strong organisational communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- A proactive detail-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
