Duties & Responsibilities
An established engineering specialist is seeking an experienced Professional Mechanical Engineer to join its technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering inspections condition assessments technical evaluations engineering design project coordination and the delivery of high-quality technical reports and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct onsite inspections and condition assessments of mechanical equipment and plant.
  • Consolidate inspection findings and technically evaluate observations made by team members.
  • Perform structural and mechanical assessments and provide engineering recommendations.
  • Compile detailed technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide final technical review and sign-off on engineering work and reports.
  • Manage coordinate and oversee engineering inspection and design projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers technologists and inspection teams.
  • Execute mechanical engineering design projects and associated calculations.
  • Review engineering designs drawings calculations and manufacturing drawings.
  • Conduct failure investigations root cause analyses and engineering assessments.
  • Apply FEA and other engineering analysis techniques where required.
  • Develop repair procedures and detailed Scopes of Work.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant standards legislation regulations and good engineering practice.
  • Compile technical and commercial proposals.
  • Liaise regularly with clients and provide professional engineering advice and support.
  • Participate in strategic planning and identify opportunities for business and technical growth.
  • Conduct training masterclasses and technical seminars when required.
  • Mentor Engineers in Training and contribute to the development of junior technical staff.
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
  • BEng or BSc Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 57 years post-qualification engineering experience.
  • ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or actively working towards registration.
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
  • Strong experience in mechanical engineering inspections assessments or condition monitoring.
  • Experience interpreting and applying international engineering standards and codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong technical report-writing capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
