Key Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite inspections and condition assessments of mechanical equipment and plant.
- Consolidate inspection findings and technically evaluate observations made by team members.
- Perform structural and mechanical assessments and provide engineering recommendations.
- Compile detailed technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Provide final technical review and sign-off on engineering work and reports.
- Manage coordinate and oversee engineering inspection and design projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers technologists and inspection teams.
- Execute mechanical engineering design projects and associated calculations.
- Review engineering designs drawings calculations and manufacturing drawings.
- Conduct failure investigations root cause analyses and engineering assessments.
- Apply FEA and other engineering analysis techniques where required.
- Develop repair procedures and detailed Scopes of Work.
- Ensure engineering activities comply with relevant standards legislation regulations and good engineering practice.
- Compile technical and commercial proposals.
- Liaise regularly with clients and provide professional engineering advice and support.
- Participate in strategic planning and identify opportunities for business and technical growth.
- Conduct training masterclasses and technical seminars when required.
- Mentor Engineers in Training and contribute to the development of junior technical staff.
- Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BSc Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 57 years post-qualification engineering experience.
- ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or actively working towards registration.
- Previous experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software.
- Strong experience in mechanical engineering inspections assessments or condition monitoring.
- Experience interpreting and applying international engineering standards and codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong technical report-writing capabilities.
- Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
- Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
