Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and program PLC control systems for industrial automation projects
- Develop HMI and SCADA applications for plant monitoring and control
- Configure industrial communication networks including Ethernet/IP Profinet Modbus Profibus and OPC
- Perform system integration FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) and commissioning
- Troubleshoot PLC hardware software instrumentation and control system faults
- Develop control philosophies functional design specifications and technical documentation
- Work closely with Electrical Mechanical Instrumentation and Software Engineering teams
- Support machine upgrades retrofits and process optimisation initiatives
- Assist with electrical panel design reviews and I/O verification
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical safety and automation standards
- Travel to customer sites for commissioning and technical support where required
Minimum Requirements
- BEng BTech National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Electronic Mechatronic or Automation Engineering
- 38 years experience in PLC programming and industrial automation
- Experience within manufacturing mining FMCG automotive water treatment energy or process industries
- Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel
