An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join a dynamic organisation. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong leadership skills extensive payroll processing experience and a thorough understanding of South African payroll legislation.
As the Payroll Supervisor you will oversee the end-to-end payroll function ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
This role is based in Midrand.

As the Payroll Supervisor you will oversee the end-to-end payroll function ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
This role is based in Midrand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the full payroll function from start to finish
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for a medium to large workforce
- Process payroll transactions using Sage 300 People Sage VIP Payroll or similar payroll systems
- Perform monthly payroll reconciliations and statutory submissions
- Ensure compliance with PAYE UIF SDL COIDA BCEA and all relevant payroll legislation
- Prepare payroll reports reconciliations and management information
- Coordinate and support internal and external payroll audits
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and implement corrective actions where required
- Maintain strong payroll controls processes and record-keeping standards
- Liaise with HR Finance auditors and regulatory bodies
- Provide guidance coaching and support to payroll team members
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Finance Accounting Human Resources Payroll Administration or a related field
- Minimum 6 years payroll experience
- At least 2 years experience supervising or leading a payroll team
- Proven experience using Sage 300 People Sage VIP Payroll or similar payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Experience processing payroll for medium to large employee complements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Previous payroll audit experience will be advantageous
