KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop mineral sizing and processing equipment.
- Produce detailed mechanical designs layouts assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
- Develop equipment from concept through detailed design manufacture assembly and commissioning.
- Perform mechanical design calculations and equipment sizing.
- Select appropriate mechanical components materials bearings drives and ancillary equipment.
- Design and detail equipment for demanding mining and mineral processing environments.
- Prepare and maintain 3D models assemblies fabrication drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
- Review designs for manufacturability reliability maintainability and cost effectiveness.
- Conduct design reviews and implement engineering changes.
- Work closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to resolve design and production issues.
- Provide technical support during assembly installation and commissioning.
- Investigate equipment failures and implement design improvements.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding components materials and technical specifications.
- Support project engineers and project managers with technical input.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards specifications and customer requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of existing equipment and product designs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BEng / BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 35 years mechanical design engineering experience.
- Experience designing mining mineral processing or heavy industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design practices.
- Experience with 3D CAD modelling and mechanical design software.
- Ability to produce detailed manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
- Experience with mechanical design calculations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical documentation.
- Understanding of manufacturing fabrication and machining processes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components and materials.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Valid drivers licence.
