Maintenance Technician

Macsteel VRN Gauteng requires a suitably qualified and experienced Maintenance Technician. The role is responsible for technical maintenance support machinery repair and commissioning equipment inspections shutdown maintenance planning compliance with safety and operational standards and supporting continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. Suitable candidates Candidates must be a qualified Millwright or Electrical Artisan and have 5 years relevant experience including hands-on PLC systems wiring and technician-level supervisory exposure. Crane forklift working at heights and fall arrest certifications are essential while a Certificate of Compliance would be advantageous.

• Minimum NQF Level 4 - 5 (Grade 12 / Higher certificate)
• Qualified Millwright / Electrical Artisan
• 5 years total experience essential including operational hands-on experience with electronic PLC systems and wiring and technician-level supervisory exposure.
• Sound knowledge of the OHS Act
• Ability to understand and learn new products
• Basic proficiency in Excel Word and Outlook
• A Code 08 Drivers License is essential.
• Crane licence Forklift licence Working at Heights certification and Fall Arrest certification are essential.
• Certificate of Compliance certification will be advantageous.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required
