Job Summary
An established accounting practice in Ermelo is seeking a motivated Trainee Accountant / Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers fantastic hands-on exposure across a wide range of industries and full support for your professional development including the opportunity to complete a SAIPA clerkship. If you possess a strong foundation in accounting and are eager to build your career in a supportive environment we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Processing accounting records on Pastel
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Preparing and submitting EMP (payroll tax) returns
- Drafting financial statements
- Account reconciliations
- Debtors and creditors control
- General administrative and accounting duties
- Data entry verification and analysis
- Liaising with clients and relevant institutions
Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (Accounting as a subject is advantageous)
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting (BCom) or currently studying towards one (advantageous)
- Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with Pastel Accounting is advantageous
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent communication and administrative skills
- Ability to work accurately remain organised and perform under pressure
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Reliable punctual and eager to learn
- Bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
