Java Engineer Cape Town

• You solve challenging software engineering problems in a wide variety of projects for well-known large German and South African clients.

• You design develop and implement robust software solutions by applying AI agent- based development methods and tools throughout the software development process.

• You design and build backend services REST APIs and integration layers applying object-oriented design principles and established design patterns.

• You work across all disciplines of software engineering.

• You write well-designed testable efficient and readable code that meets both internal and customer standards and you deliver software that is thoroughly tested and debugged.

• You contribute to code reviews performance tuning and CI/CD practices and help raise the teams engineering standards.

• You use well-known technologies such as Java JavaScript Spring Kotlin Maven Gradle JUnit etc.

• You have successfully completed a university degree in computer science or a comparable discipline.

• You have at least 5 years of experience in professional software development including hands-on experience with the technologies listed above.

• You enjoy working with agile methods such as Scrum or Design Thinking.

• You are proactive pragmatic and team-oriented with strong collaboration and communication skills and a drive for continual improvement.
