Job Summary
To manage and oversee the companys human resources function ensuring effective employee lifecycle management compliance with applicable labour legislation and company policies employee relations payroll administration recruitment performance management and HR reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding through to termination.
- Maintain accurate employee files HR records contracts amendments and employee documentation.
- Manage recruitment processes including vacancy advertising screening interviews selection and onboarding.
- Manage disciplinary grievance incapacity and absenteeism processes in accordance with company procedures and applicable labour legislation.
- Liaise with external Employee Relations/Labour Relations consultants where required.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate payroll processing and verify hours leave deductions and employee changes.
- Administer employee benefits including medical aid funeral cover and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation including the BCEA LRA EEA UIF and COIDA requirements.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for labour statutory and internal audits.
- Coordinate performance management probation reviews KPIs and performance improvement processes.
- Prepare HR reports covering headcount turnover absenteeism leave recruitment and employee relations matters.
- Provide HR guidance and support to management and employees.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years HR experience preferably in construction civil engineering logistics or a similar operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations processes.
- Experience with disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Payroll and HRIS experience; Sage Payroll professional experience would be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with both operational employees and senior management.
