Finance Business Partner (HR & Tech)

A large fast-paced organisation operating in a complex technology-driven environment is looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to support two strategically important areas: people and technology.

This is a role for someone who wants to get close to the business. Youll partner with relevant stakeholders turning complex financial information into practical commercial insight challenging spend and helping ensure investment decisions deliver real value.

Note - Cape Town CBD Hybrid - 4 days in office 6 Month Contract (Potential to become permanent)

What youll be doing

• Own budgeting monthly forecasting and insightful variance analysis across HR and Engineering
• Manage people costs and headcount forecasting including salaries benefits recruitment costs and planned hiring
• Partner with Engineering on cloud infrastructure software costs technology investment and CapEx vs OpEx decisions
• Build financial models for restructures outsourcing build-vs-buy decisions and new investments
• Deliver accurate insight-led monthly management reporting while maintaining strong financial controls
• Challenge assumptions identify risks and opportunities early and turn financial data into clear recommendations for leadership

What were looking for

• CA(SA) or CMA qualification
• 35 years post-articles experience with at least 2 years in FP&A or finance business partnering
• Experience managing large complex cost centres ideally R100m
• Advanced Excel/Google Sheets modelling skills including the ability to build a zero-based budget from scratch
• Experience with BI and ERP systems; exposure to technology or people cost centres would be advantageous
• Strong commercial judgement with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and influence decisions
• A curious detail-focused approach with the ability to deliver quality work in a fast-moving environment
