Job Summary
- Process and maintain daily cashbook transactions accurately and timeously.
- Obtain and file monthly bank statements.
- Review bank transactions and ensure all entries are correctly allocated.
- Process internal transfers and other routine banking transactions.
- Maintain proper supporting documentation for all accounting entries.
- Assist with ensuring all accounting entries are complete before month-end close.
- Capture supplier invoices accurately into the accounting system.
- Match supplier invoices to supporting documents where applicable.
- Follow up on missing invoices and supporting documents from suppliers.
- Prepare supplier payment schedules for review and approval.
- Assist with the loading of approved supplier payments.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of payment runs.
- Load approved ad hoc payments including supplier payments refunds and other authorised disbursements.
- Assist with salary funding transfers and payment release preparation.
- Liaise with banks and service providers to resolve banking-related queries and issues.
- Ensure banking profiles and FICA documentation remain up to date where required.
- Prepare and capture routine monthly journals.
- Assist with month-end processing to ensure all transactions are recorded in the correct period.
- Support the preparation of reconciliations and schedules for month-end reporting.
- Assist with drafting financial information for management review.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in a complete and organised manner.
- Perform reconciliations for key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Reconcile supplier balances and other ledger accounts.
- Assist with maintaining accurate audit trails for all processed transactions.
- Ensure financial records invoices statements and supporting schedules are properly filed and accessible.
- Help identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Assist with preparing supporting documents for audits.
- Collate reconciliations schedules and financial support files when required.
- Assist with ad hoc finance information requests from management and auditors.
- Review client billing statements for accuracy and completeness before distribution.
- Check billing data against underlying reports membership data and supporting schedules.
- Identify billing discrepancies omissions or unusual movements and escalate for correction.
- Assist with allocation of receipts on necessary system.
- Assist with preparing recurring client invoices and statements.
- Follow up on billing queries and provide supporting information where needed.
- Maintain proper records of billing statements supporting reports and issued invoices.
- Help ensure that all billings are processed timeously and in line with agreed cut-off dates.
- Support the reconciliation of billed amounts to underlying financial and operational record
- Assist with creation of various reports:
- Discrepancy report
- Collections report
- Retail data
- SB monthly retail report
- Assist with the preparation of VAT workings and supporting schedules for submission review.
- Reconcile VAT-related information to underlying accounting records.
- Support the preparation of payroll input schedules and related supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and checks before final review and approval.
- Help ensure payroll-related payment information is prepared accurately and on time.
- Maintain proper filing of VAT payroll and related supporting documents.
- Assistance to Team Leader: Finance and Executive
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification advantageous.
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or finance administration role.
- Experience working on accounting systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and recordkeeping skills.

Required Skills:
