Job Summary
A premium Lodge in the Greater Addo region is looking for a dedicated and passionate Junior or Senior Field Guide who wants their career to make a genuine ecological and social impact.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Conduct twice-daily game drives showcasing our diverse Big Five reserve.
- Lead specialized guest activities upon request including nature walks star gazing and SAN rock art tours.
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for arriving and departing lodge guests.
- Provide backup support for staff transport as dictated by operational needs.
- Host guests warmly at the lodge when adverse weather prevents scheduled field activities.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Minimum NQF2 qualification.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Valid First Aid qualification.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.
- Deep knowledge of local flora and fauna.
- Strong interpersonal and team-work abilities.
- A positive adaptable working attitude and a genuine passion for sharing nature.
Desired Criteria
- Prior experience working within a 5-star luxury lodge environment.
- Trails Guide qualification.
- Strong understanding of and experience in wildlife conservation and relevant environmental issues.
