Job Summary
INVESTIGATIONS
- Liaise with inspectors and conduct joint investigation when and where necessary.
- Carry out investigations and draw up investigations plans. Conduct and record interviews with witnesses and suspects. Record witness statements.
- Compile and prepare case dockets and exhibit files as per enforcement manual.
- Safeguard documents relating to investigations that have been conducted. Present enforcement file to the Manager: Enforcement & Exemptions
- Compile enforcement reports.
- Liaise with other enforcement agencies and conduct joint investigations where necessary.
- Report criminal cases to the SAPS and assist the prosecutors in preparing charges levelled against offenders who contravened any civil aviation prescripts.
- Keep track of all enforcement cases submitted for prosecution.
- Provide enforcement reports to the Manager: Enforcement.
- Prepare reports to the Director in relation to enforcement actions taken and recommend further action.
- Compile enforcement progress updates and forward them to the enforcement coordinator.
- Ensure SACAA internal clients are up to date with developments in their enforcement cases
MANAGEMENT OF ENFORCEMENT CASES
- Manage and control enforcement files.
- Monitor and ensure that all developments relating to enforcement cases are accurately recorded in the enforcement register.
- Manage monitor and make follow-ups on enforcement matters internally and externally.
- Prepare monthly reports detailing all enforcement cases taken and their status.
- Ensure that relevant SACAA clients are up-to-date with developments in their enforcement cases.
- Report and track progress on all enforcement cases including those that have been reported to the SAPS/NPA.
ADMINISTRATION
- Ensure safe keeping of all enforcement files.
- Capture and maintain all enforcement file information on the EBS system
- Capture track and maintain the enforcement outcomes on the EBS system
- Flag on the EBS system enforcement outcome that has been caried out
EDUCATION:
- Matric
- Cargo Security Certificate or Dangerous Goods Cat 6 or Aviation Security Course
- Government Safety Inspector Course
IDEAL
- ICAO recognised Diploma in Aviation Safety or Security
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 Years experience in investigations or inspections or quality assurance or auditing
