- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of protection devices metering equipment and switching devices (LV & MV).
- Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of protection faults.
- Carry out equipment repairs replacements and wiring for protection systems and switchgear.
- Lead installation and configuration of protection relays control systems and metering equipment using OEM software.
- Oversee FAT SAT and site commissioning of switchgear protection control and metering systems including relay testing transformer tests fault simulations and communication checks.
- Support MV/HV switching operations and isolation procedures in line with site standards.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers ensuring compliance with safety quality and regulatory standards.
- BTech or Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Registration with ECSA advantageous.
- ORHVS certification required.
- 5 years experience in:
- Testing & commissioning of protection systems and switchgear (380V 33kV).
- Fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical systems (380V 33kV).
- Repairs replacements and wiring of protection systems and switchgear.
- Routine maintenance of protection control and metering systems.
- Familiarity with test equipment (digital secondary injection sets CB analysers ductors thermal imaging etc.).
- Strong understanding of MV mining networks protection principles and communication protocols (IEC 61850 Modbus etc.).
