The Electrical Engineer will conduct the design development testing and implementation of electrical as well as control and instrumentation systems and components for various projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct the design and development of electrical systems including MV and LV power distribution and control systems.
- Design of digital and analogue controlled systems (PLC and SCADA control)
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to create and review technical drawings schematics and layouts using CAD software.
- Conduct calculations and simulations to evaluate system performance and optimize designs.
- Participate in the testing and validation of electrical components and systems ensuring compliance with industry standards regulations and project specific requirements.
- Develop project documentation including specifications reports and user manuals.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control issues during projects and for aftermarket support and recommend solutions to improve system reliability.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers project managers and clients to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends technologies and best practices in electrical control and instrumentation engineering.
- Design or be part of develop test and supervise the manufacture Factory acceptance testing installation and Site acceptance testing and handover of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Travel to various customer sites for site meetings commissioning verify installations audits and inspections.
- Assist with costing and tendering of electrical and instrumentation systems.
- QC/QA of Electrical and Instrumentation components and installations
POSITION CAPABILITIES
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- PR Eng registration or working toward registration
- 5 years relevant experience within the Bulk Materials Handling Equipment environment.
- Solid understanding of electrical and control and instrumentation engineering principles and practices.
- Proven experience with CAD software creating EC&I drawings.
- Proven experience with electrical design software and simulation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
