DevOps Engineer (Intermediate Senior)

Our client is seeking a passionate DevOps Engineer to join its expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a cloud-focused engineer who enjoys building reliable scalable AWS infrastructure while working on modern AI cloud-native and DevOps projects. The position is fully remote within South Africa and offers a 12-month contract with strong potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design implement and maintain scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.
• Support MLOps and AI deployment pipelines in production.
• Implement monitoring observability alerting and incident response processes.
• Collaborate with developers QA data scientists and machine learning engineers to deliver reliable production systems.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering Software Engineering or a related field.
• Intermediate or Senior-level DevOps experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a DevOps SRE or related engineering role.
• Strong software development experience using Python Go Java or JavaScript with Bash scripting skills.
• Hands-on AWS experience is essential.
• Experience with EC2 ECS/EKS Lambda S3 IAM and other AWS services.
• Strong knowledge of Docker Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Advantageous

• AWS certifications.
• AWS CDK experience.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD).
• Experience with AWS Bedrock Bedrock AgentCore MLOps or AgentOps.
• Open-source or startup experience.
