Job Summary

A specialist engineering business working in advanced composites and carbonfibre component design is seeking a Design Engineer to join their engineering and product development team.
The role involves fullcycle design work from concept and CAD modelling to prototyping FEA analysis process documentation and production support.

Projects include highperformance mechanical components for automotive motorsport industrial and safetycritical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and understand design briefs.
  • Perform CAD design for manufacture on innovative engineering projects.
  • Produce detailed drawings and technical documentation.
  • Develop prototypes and support product testing.
  • Conduct FEA analysis and interpret results.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Execute experimental procedures and compile reports.
  • Support production process development and continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and provide technical solutions.
  • Communicate with clients and prepare progress updates.

Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5 years experience in an engineering environment.
  • Experience with composites or carbonfibre components (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of engineering processes and project workflows.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software (essential).
  • Practical actionoriented approach with the ability to work independently.
  • High attention to detail accuracy and quality.
  • Strong accountability and ownership mindset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
