Job Summary
Are you a Composites Engineer with a meticulous approach to production and a passion for research and development We are seeking an innovative professional to join our team and drive the development of advanced composite materials products and manufacturing processes. This role offers the opportunity to take concepts from development through to implementation helping improve product performance manufacturing efficiency and overall production capability.
Job Description:
- Research and develop new composite materials products and manufacturing processes
- Design and refine composite structures and production solutions
- Produce 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks
- Conduct feasibility studies technical evaluations and cost-benefit analyses
- Manage prototype development testing and validation activities
- Analyse test results and support the standardisation of new processes
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams on material and technology development
- Support supplier selection material sourcing and manufacturing improvements
- Maintain technical documentation BOMs and engineering reports
- Assist with quality improvements design changes and production challenges
- Support the implementation of new technologies into manufacturing operations
- 510 years experience in composites advanced materials or manufacturing engineering
- Experience within industrial automotive aerospace or related manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of composite materials manufacturing methods and production processes
- Proficient in SolidWorks MS Office and MS Project
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical hands-on approach
- Commercial awareness including exposure to costing and ROI assessments
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail-oriented adaptable and solutions-driven
- Diploma (NQF 6) in Engineering or a related field
- BTech or BEng (NQF 7) preferred
- Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel between sites as required
