Job Summary

A specialist training opportunity is available in the East Rand for a nursing professional with theatre expertise and a passion for developing clinical capability. The role combines education facilitation assessment and clinical leadership within the theatre environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate clinical training programmes for theatre nursing staff.
  • Identify competency and development gaps and implement appropriate training interventions.
  • Facilitate theoretical and practical learning within the clinical environment.
  • Conduct competency assessments and provide constructive feedback to staff.
  • Support the orientation and ongoing development of theatre nursing personnel.
  • Maintain accurate training assessment and competency records.
  • Ensure educational initiatives align with nursing practice standards legislation and organisational requirements.
  • Work closely with clinical leaders and unit managers to identify training needs.
  • Support the implementation of change initiatives and new clinical practices.
  • Promote continuous professional development and evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing with a Theatre specialisation.
  • Post-registration nursing experience within a relevant healthcare environment.
  • Current registration with SANC.
  • Registered Assessor with SANC.
  • Proven clinical leadership expertise.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation governing nursing practice.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing education systems and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of change management principles.
  • Strong facilitation and assessment skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Strong communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate learning programmes within a clinical environment.
