AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

Youll join a diverse team of software hardware and network engineers supply chain specialists security experts operations managers and other vital roles. Youll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. Key job responsibilities
You will oversee multiple programs that support growth initiatives and deliver independently seeking direction occasionally
You will manage remote project delivery teams and possess the ability to facilitate technical sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues and remove barriers to project success
You will be able to operate in cross-functional matrix-based teams establish trust with a variety of stakeholders and customers across multiple time zones manage capital budgets eliminate non-value-add activity design solutions remove blockers and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery
You will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal) and possess at least 3 years of experience in project management of technical initiatives as well as strategic program management


A day in the life
Along with technical knowledge we expect our leaders to interact with customers partners and suppliers to understand our business goals and priorities and to execute rapidly delivering high-quality results
They will be familiar with a variety of project management tools methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle
Theyll be able to exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope schedule budget resources quality and risk management reporting and metric development/tracking

- Experience in management of difficult cross-functional technology infrastructure projects (e.g. IT telecom energy) with varying degrees of ambiguity
- 3 years of technical infrastructure management experience
- Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (i.e. network data center hardware software)

- Masters Degree or advanced professional degree
- One or more of the following certifications: Agile SCRUM PRINCE2 PMP
- Understanding of cloud computing and data center market and service providers
- Data Centre construction experience and Data Centre Infrastructure (Power & Cooling) experience
