Your Role
Your role is Operations Engineer. You will plan prepare and execute AUV inspection operations end-to-end from mission planning and equipment readiness through onsite/offshore deployment data collection and post-mission reporting. This role is a critical link between engineering field operations and clients ensuring HAUVs are deployed safely reliably and to the standard our clients expect.
Your Job Scope
- Plan and prepare underwater inspection missions including survey planning risk assessments and equipment/tooling checklists.
- Deploy operate and recover HAUVs and associated launch/recovery systems during onsite and offshore inspection campaigns.
- Perform pre- and post-mission checks on vehicle subsystems: thrusters pressure hulls PCB stacks wiring harnesses connectors and sensors.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in the field escalating to engineering teams where needed and documenting fixes.
- Process QC and package inspection data (video sonar sensor logs) for delivery to clients and internal review.
- Coordinate with clients vessel crews and site personnel to schedule and execute operations safely and on time.
- Maintain operational logs mission reports and equipment maintenance records.
- Support integration and testing of new vehicle builds or payloads prior to field deployment.
- Uphold and continuously improve HSE (health safety environment) standards for all field activities.
- Feed field observations back to R&D and engineering to inform product and process improvements.
Desired Qualities
- Degree in Marine/Ocean Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical/Electronic Engineering Mechatronics or a related field.
- 14 years of experience in field operations offshore engineering robotics marine systems or a related hands-on technical role (fresh graduates with strong hands-on project experience will be considered).
- Working knowledge of mechanical electrical and software systems; comfortable reading wiring diagrams and basic schematics.
- Hands-on experience with soldering cabling/harnessing or mechanical assembly is a strong advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel and work offshore or at client sites including irregular hours when operations require.
- Strong problem-solving skills and composure when troubleshooting under field conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely with clients vessel crews and cross-functional internal teams.
- Valid diving certification offshore safety certification (e.g. BOSIET) or willingness to obtain them is a plus.
- A valid driving license is an advantage.
