Lead Power Electronics Engineer (Advanced Development)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer to lead the investigation development and integration of new technologies for future product applications. You will work within a global cross-functional R&D environment to evaluate innovative concepts and progress technically viable solutions towards product readiness.
- Lead the investigation development and integration of new technologies and design solutions.
- Develop and evaluate power electronics concepts through circuit design analysis simulation and prototyping.
- Collaborate with internal teams external technology partners and suppliers to assess technical and commercial feasibility.
- Analyse and present findings covering performance value costs trade-offs risks and development effort.
- Work closely with Product Marketing Engineering and other cross-functional teams to validate proposed solutions.
- Progress concepts through testing and validation towards product readiness.
- Provide technical support during the integration of new solutions into product designs.
- Build internal knowledge and technical capabilities in power electronics and related technologies.
- Manage development activities priorities and stakeholder communications independently.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience including a proven track record of delivering products from development through commercial launch.
- Strong hands-on experience in power electronics including:
- Circuit design analysis and simulation
- Schematic capture and PCB implementation
- Testing troubleshooting and design validation
- Good knowledge of power semiconductor components including MOSFETs BJTs operational amplifiers gate drivers fuses and diodes.
- Experience using simulation tools such as LTspice SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience in thermal management for high-current electronic systems.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer Mentor Graphics or equivalent schematic and PCB design tools.
- Practical experience in EMC/EMI design and regulatory compliance.
- Strong domain experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Battery Management Systems (BMS); or
- Motor Drive Systems including BLDC PMDC or AC motors.
- AC-DC or DC-DC power conversion.
- Constant-voltage/constant-current battery-charging systems.
- Intelligent or fast-charging technologies including Quick Charge or USB Power Delivery.
- Strong curiosity and passion for advanced engineering and R&D.
- Analytical and structured approach to technical problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to different stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills within global and cross-functional teams.
- Innovative and commercially aware mindset.
- Self-driven with effective project and stakeholder-management capabilities.
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in Power Electronics: circuit design/analysis/simulation PCB implementation Familiarity with power semiconductors (MOSFET BJT Op-Amps drivers fuses diodes) Simulation tools: LTSpice SPICE MATLAB/Simulink Thermal management for high-current electronics Schematic/PCB tools: Altium Mentor Graphics (or equivalent) EMC/EMI compliance experience Required domain experience in at least one of: Battery Management Systems (BMS) or Motor Drive Systems (BLDC/PMDC/AC)
