Role Overview

The Identity Access and Protection Infrastructure team builds the platform that secures all our services andcustomerinteractions. Weaccelerate Coupangs businessthrough ourindustry-leadingsecurityplatformon whichourdeveloperscan buildamazing products.Our workspans many layers of the application stack from cryptographic keymanagementtoservice identitytouserauthenticationanddynamicauthorization to achieve a modern Zero Trust architecture.Wethink beyond technologies and standards to take abusiness-wideperspective

We are seekingan engineering leaderto leadour dynamic authorizationeffort.This team protects our customers bywatching all API calls for risk indicators triggering corrective actions when necessary. You willwork with senior leaders and architects todrive strategy and execution inyour area and collaborate with your peersontheir areas as needed.You will model excellent communicationcollaborationand execution within our team and the largerTechnicalInfrastructure organization.The successful candidate will besomeone who can hire andretainthe best build an effective organizationwork across groups to deliverbroadbusiness impact andis not afraid to dive deep when needed. What You Will Do

In this role you will:

• Help builda great teambyhiringthe best and actively shaping team culture.
• Drive the evolutionof our platformby overseeing strategy creating roadmapsdriving executionand working for company-wide adoption.
• Drive alignment across key stakeholders on strategic roadmapsanddeliverables.
• Partner with teams across the company to proactivelyidentifybusiness and technical opportunities.
• Drive execution through technical and organizational complexities balancing strategicgoalsand immediate impact.
• Dive deepwhen necessary to lead by example and help withhigh priorityprojects.
• Contribute to the Coupang engineering community through cross-company initiatives.
• Inspire teams to raise the bar on designdevelopmentand Operational Excellence.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science or related technical field.
• 12 years professional experienceworking in software engineering teams or 10 years experience with advanced degree.
• 5 years experiencemanaging engineers.
• Experience leadingdesign and development oflarge scaledistributed systems.
• Recent experience with securityIAMorrelated technologies.
• Experience incollaborating with cross-functional teams to define mission vision and roadmaps.
• Experience handling multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and leading the delivery of large-scale services for complex business offerings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Mastersor PhD degree in computer science orotherrelated technicalfield.
• Hands-on experience building security protocols and/or systems.
• Experience incollaborating with cross-functional teams to define mission vision and roadmaps.
• Experience working with Infrastructure as Code KubernetesgRPCand Istio.
