Job Summary
- Design develop and maintain scalable secure and high-performance backend services and APIs.
- Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed system architectures.
- Develop integration components connecting upstream and downstream systems devices and data sources.
- Manage and optimise relational and NoSQL databases including schema design query performance and data integrity.
- Develop data processing transformation and analytics services to support business and system requirements.
- Implement application monitoring logging and observability capabilities to ensure system reliability and effective troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve backend application system integration performance and production issues.
- Implement authentication authorisation and secure coding best practices across backend applications.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers data teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Support testingdeployment CI/CD and production operations while maintaining clean well-documented testable code and participating in Agile development activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in backend software development and building enterprise-grade applicationswith strong proficiency in Python or Java.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs microservices backend integrations message queues and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases including query optimisation and data integrity management.
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS with familiarity in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good knowledge of software design patterns enterprise application architecture secure coding GitLab CI/CD and Agile practices with strong debugging analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Skills:
Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field. Min. 5 years of relevant experience in IT or cloud project management. Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Google Cloud and project management tools such as Jira or Microsoft Project.
