Tasks

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who works independently and in a self-organized manner enthusiastic about building scalable products and maintaining high code quality standards.

Besides this your profile will include:
Design scalable solutions: Develop and maintain Java-based backend applications and microservices with a focus on performance and reliability.

Deliver high-quality code: Implement Spring Boot applications following best practices in clean code testing and performance optimization.

Support modern deployment practices: Work closely with DevOps to containerize and deploy applications and integrate CI/CD pipelines.

Leverage event-driven architecture: Use events to build robust asynchronous systems that support scalability and decoupled services.

Optimize data interactions: Design and maintain efficient relational database integrations that ensure data integrity and system responsiveness.

Contribute to strong engineering standards: Engage in architectural discussions perform code reviews and promote best practices.

Leverage AI code companions: Utilize hands-on AI code companions and intelligent development tools to enhance productivity accelerate development cycles and maintain code quality standards while staying current with modern development practices.

Mentor and grow the team: Provide guidance to junior developers and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements

You shall bring:
5 years of experience in backend software development using Java 8 or above

Full stack development experience with proficiency across backend and frontend technologies (angular or react)

Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and the Spring framework ecosystem

Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful microservices

Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and working with databases

Working knowledge of Apache Kafka or similar messaging platforms

Strong understanding of asynchronous programming message-driven systems and distributed systems

Good understanding of Docker orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for automated build and deployment

Fluent in English

Nice to have:
German Language Skills
Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring Java applications
Knowledge of security best practices in backend development
