Junior Electrical Technician

Day-to-day Operations

• Carry out preventive routine and breakdown maintenance and troubleshoot all low voltage static and rotary equipment as per equipment manuals and written work instructions.
• Calibrate voltmeter ammeter on a yearly basis.
• Calibrate plant and network instruments like flowmeter pressure gauges etc.
• Ensure optimum usage of electrical spares and manage spare parts.
• Assist in diagnosing and determining required repairs for complex HVAC systems as well as repairs by replacement rehabilitating etc.
• Assist in diagnosing faults and preventive maintenance by inspecting and testing instruments and systems in use.
• Assist in replacing motor bearings tracing of panel wirings fault finding in control and power circuit of all LV and MV panels.
• Megger the cable test the continuity of cables and panel wirings cable termination and reconnection applying suitable torque.
• Read the various parameters of electrical relays VFD parameters soft starter parameters and various fault codes and reset the fault codes.
• Handle different types of special tools and measuring & metering equipment as per the field requirement in the presence of Electrical Technician and Electrical Supervisor.
• Support Electrical Technician/Supervisor to achieve monthly PPM completion for electrical equipment more than 95% to achieve target overall yearly KPI.
• Witness testing and commissioning of electrical equipment during testing and commissioning of new DCP.
• Witness site acceptance test for all electrical installation done by EPC contractor.

• Follow all relevant departmental policies processes standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems processes and practices considering global standards productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Quality Health Safety & Environment

• Comply with all relevant safety quality and environmental management policies procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet department requirements policies and quality standards.
• Update daily maintenance activities carried out in report form to Electrical Technician/Supervisor and update history card.

• The job holder may be required to undertake additional duties which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the job.

6. Context Work environment & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:

• The job holder does not exercise any major responsibility and should refer to Electrical Engineer for approval on any significant decision before implementation.

7. QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma / Industrial Training institute certification of wireman/Electrician

Minimum Experience:

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a utility plant
