Job Summary
Job Purpose:
Managing the legal aspects of the businesses of the company playing the lead role in appointing external legal counsel developing and implementing transaction structures drafting negotiating and finalizing documentation and monitoring the legal regulatory and compliance aspects of the businesses of the company.
Job responsibilities:
• Manage compliance and corporate governance matters.
• Draft and provide advice on internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee documentation of various commercial arrangements
• Lead all legal aspects of M&A transactions.
• Oversee the investigation of legal claims and complaints.
• Oversee the drafting of internal legal memoranda and external correspondence
• Manage external legal counsel.
• Annually prepare legal department budget
• Manage the Legal department' s administrative activities.
• Recruit and develop members of the legal department.
• Team and individual meetings are held regularly with appropriate leadership and training provided.
Job Specification:

Education and Academics: |
Law degree
Admitted to practice in the UK US Australia New Zealand or Canada |
Work Experience: | Minimum 15 years of experience practicing law.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in respect of M&A transactions
Former corporate partner at a global law firm and/or as a general or head of legal at a recognized corporation
Substantial experience in respect of a wide array of legal practice areas Including corporate governance regulatory compliance commercial transactions property etc. Experience managing teams of people as well as with recruiting and talent development Experience working and living in emerging markets |
